INDICATIONS:
Diuretic with a good margin of diuresis control in which it can be controlled according to the need, from a moderate diuresis to a quick and immediate one in bovine equine ovine caprine swine dogs and cats in the following cases:
- pulmonary edema (ascites pulmonary congestion); intravenous injection relieves symptoms of edema due to cardiac influence almost immediately;
- Pulmonary edema due to acute intoxication also responds to the treatment of Zalix®, but in some cases it is advisable to double or triple the doses corresponding to the initial ones;
- Renal edema – this disease responds correctly to treatment with Zalix® which exerts a diuretic effect although with a very restricted glomerular filtration showing correct efficacy in the case of chronic glomerulonephritis;
- Pregnancy edema – when there is a need for a more effective diuresis, Zalix® acts without any pathological effect and without any contraindication in pregnant animals. Its application is especially recommended during the last 3 months of pregnancy in order to eliminate excess fluid accumulated in the body;
- Cardiac edema – whenever it is necessary, your Zalix® treatment behaves effectively without contraindications. The combined use of Zalix® with cardiac glucosides is recommended.
- Hepatic edema - Zalix® has no influence on the liver, as recommended in resistant ascites.
Due to its diuretic action, Zalix® acts effectively in intoxications of different origins (food by stimulating drugs, intestinal auto-intoxications or myogenic). Intravenous injection in the first application and immediately after intramuscular injection until achieving the desired effect, providing satisfactory results.
With Zalix®, conclusive effects can be expected even in cases where the use of other diuretics has been effective.
DOSAGE:Cattle and Horses:
The recommended dose is from 05 to 1 mg/kg of body weight or 5 to 10 mL/animal (250 to 500 mg) once or twice a day with 12-hour intervals until the animal's complete recovery.
Sheep, Goats and Swine:
The recommended dose is from 05 to 1 mg/kg of body weight or 25 to 5 mL/animal (125 to 250 mg) once or twice a day with intervals of 12 hours until the complete recovery of the animal.
The dosage may be changed according to the prescription of the veterinarian, case by case, such as: importance of the edema, the need to eliminate a large amount of liquids, etc.
In some cases, it is advisable to use the intermittent system, applying the indicated doses for 2 to 4 days a week, suspending the treatment and restarting the following week.
Dogs and cats:
The recommended dose is 1 to 2 mg/kg bodyweight or 01 to 02 mL/5 kg bodyweight once or twice a day with an interval of 12 hours between treatments.
Note: In severe cases where there is no response to treatment, double the doses or at the discretion of the Veterinarian.
ADMINISTRATION:
Intramusculr and intravenous.
PRECAUTIONS:
Do not use the product in cases of hepatic coma, renal failure or electrolyte deficiency.
