Ceftiofur hydrochloride is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin family.
indications:
Indicated for the clinical treatment of mastitis in lactating dairy cows, associated with coagulase negative Staphylococcus, Streptococcus dysgalac-tiae and Escherichia coli.
Cows with systemic clinical signs caused by mastitis should receive other appropriate therapy under the guidance of a veterinarian.
composition:
Each 10 mL disposable syringe contains:
Ceftiofur Hydrochloride__________ 125 mg
dosage and method of use:
Introduce a syringe into each affected quarter.
Repeat this treatment after 24 hours for prolonged therapy.
Treatment should be repeated once a day for up to eight consecutive days.
Thoroughly rinse teats with lukewarm water containing appropriate antiseptic.
Dry thoroughly and completely drain the udder.
Clean the end of the affected teat using individual wipes with alcohol for each teat.
Choose the desired insertion length (full or partial) and insert the syringe tip into the teat channel.
Push the syringe plunger in order to administer the entire contents and massage the quarter to distribute the suspension in the milk cistern.
grace period and precautions:
Milk: do not use milk for human consumption during treatment (maximum of eight infusions) and for 72 hours after the last treatment.
The withdrawal period for meat consumption is two days after the last treatment.
