Azium® Solution is a synthetic analogue of prednisolone with similar action, but with more potent anti-inflammatory activity and improved metabolic and hormonal effects. It is 9-alpha-fluoro-16-alpha-methyl prednisolone which, due to the changes it has undergone in its basic structure, offers an increase in the anti-inflammatory effect when compared to other corticosteroids.

Indications:
Azium® Solution is indicated for those situations or conditions in which an immediate hormonal response is necessary. Therefore, it is indicated intravenously in states of shock, toxemia and circulatory crises.
Small animals – Azium® Solution is indicated for inflammation involving joints and accessory structures, naturally in cases where there are no structural changes such as ankylosis or sheath or ligament ruptures. It is also indicated in nonspecific dermatitis and as support medication in surgical accidents.
Large Animals - It is indicated for ketosis, as an auxiliary medication in acute mastitis, metritis, severe pneumonia, transport fever and vitular in cattle. In horses,
Azium® Solution is indicated in cases of bursitis, carpititis, myositis, dislocations and as an auxiliary medication in fatigue, influenza and exhaustion due to heat.
Azium® Solution is indicated as an auxiliary medicine in accidents caused by snake bites, as well as in all rheumatic, allergic, dermatological and other diseases known to be sensitive to corticosteroids.
Dosage and Administration:
In treatment with Azium® Solution, as with any other corticosteroid, therapy must be established by taking into account the severity of the condition, the duration of treatment and the patient's tolerance limit for the steroid. The lowest possible effective dose should be used. Whenever it is necessary to use high doses, the animal must be under observation to identify the appearance of side effects if, by chance, they occur. During treatment with other corticosteroids, we can replace them with Azium®Solution, respecting the appropriate dose reduction and adjustment.
Dogs - Use 0.25 to 1.0 mg intravenously or intramuscularly. The dose can be repeated if necessary. In prolonged treatments, the maintenance dosage should be 0.25 to 0.5 mg of dexamethasone per day.
Cats - Use 0.125 to 0.5 mg of dexamethasone intravenously or intramuscularly. Repeat dose if necessary. The maintenance dose is 0.125 to 0.25 mg.
Cattle – Use 5 to 20 mg of dexamethasone intramuscularly or intravenously, depending on the severity of the case. The dose should be repeated when necessary.
Horses – Use 2.5 to 5.0 mg of dexamethasone intramuscularly or intravenously.
The product should be at approximately body temperature when injected. The general recommendations for the use of products by the parenteral route, such as asepsis, disinfection and intravenous administration speed, must be respected.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2mg
